Cancellation

How to stop paying us, in the everyday sense and in the statutory sense.

In force from 9 September 2026

Cancelling, the everyday way

Open your billing page, choose Cancel subscription, confirm. Two clicks. It works at any hour and requires nobody’s permission.

We will never ask you to telephone us, email us, or sit through a retention offer in order to cancel. Cancelling is as easy as subscribing, and takes the same number of steps.

After you cancel you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing further is taken.

Your 14-day statutory right

Separately from the above, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of entering the contract, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

The 14 days run from the day after the contract is made. To use the right, tell us clearly that you want to cancel: an email saying so is enough, or you can use the form below.

Where the right applies, we refund what you paid within 14 days of being told, to the payment method you used.

When the 14-day right ends early

Under regulation 37, the right ends before the 14 days are up only when all three of these have happened:

  • you expressly asked us to begin providing the service during the 14 days;
  • you acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel once the service had been fully performed; and
  • we confirmed both of those back to you on a durable medium — for us, the order confirmation email.

At checkout, the first two are separate boxes and neither is ticked for you. Our server checks both again before anything starts, and the confirmation email repeats both. If any of the three is missing, your right to cancel survives for the full 14 days regardless of what any box said.

If you asked us to start but the service has only been partly performed, you pay a proportionate amount for what you used and we refund the rest.

If we failed to tell you about your right to cancel as regulation 13 requires, the cancellation period is extended by 12 months.

A fresh 14 days after every renewal

Ahead of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 coming into force, we give you a fresh 14-day cancellation window after every renewal, and we email you a separate reminder before each one. Neither is required by the law today. We do both because a subscription that renews quietly for years is not something anybody actually agreed to.

Refunds outside the statutory right

Outside the 14 days, a subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for and we do not refund part-used periods.

If something has genuinely gone wrong — the service did not work, or it was not as described — that is a different matter, and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply. Email us and we will sort it out.

Please talk to us before raising a dispute with your bank. Almost everything is quicker to fix directly, and support@jamesagent.shop is answered by a person.

Model cancellation form

This is the statutory form set out in Schedule 3, Part B of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You do not have to use it — any clear statement will do — but it is here because it has to be.

Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract
